The match...a 3rd round encounter between 7th seed and 2007 finalist Fernando Gonzalez and world no 57 Marin Cilic, a 19 year-old Croatian.

A few well-known facts...Gonzalez has won 114 hard court matches in his career and lost only 66. Cilic has played only 40 hard court matches in his career.

The odds...Gonzalez is the bookies' favourite. Odds on Cilic is 4 to 1 so if you bet 100 buckazoids on him and he wins, you get 400.

We fancied Cilic.

We bet on him.

We won.

Simple as that?

Of course not!

Sometimes we lose. That's life. And that's sport betting in general for that matter. But we don't bet if we don't know enough. And with the above example we did know enough. Enough to believe the young Cilic had the beating of his more experienced opponent. This time we were right.
